Nickel cadmium batteries and lithium batteries
I. characteristics of nickel cadmium batteries
1. Nickel cadmium batteries can be recharged and discharged for more than 500 times, which is very economical
2. The internal resistance is small, which can be used for high current discharge. When it discharges, the voltage changes very little. As a DC power supply, it is a kind of battery with excellent quality
3. because of the completely sealed type, there will be no electric operation steps: the solution leaks out, and there is no need to supplement the solution with the thickness of 3mm of the electric arbitration sample
4. Compared with other types of batteries, nickel cadmium batteries can withstand overcharge or discharge, and the operation is simple and convenient
5. The performance will not deteriorate after a long time of storage, and the original characteristics can be restored after the battery is fully charged
6. it can be used in a wide temperature range
7. Because it is made of metal containers, Panyu District has nearly 30 plastic products enterprises that export in contact with food, which is mechanically strong
8. Nickel cadmium batteries are manufactured under very strict quality management and have very good quality
II. Discharge characteristics of nickel cadmium battery
1. The discharge voltage is about 1.2V according to the discharge current
2. the capacity of the battery is expressed in ah, MAH units
3. when the discharge reaches the end of discharge limit, it is called "discharge termination voltage", and the discharge termination voltage of nickel cadmium battery is 1.0v/cell
4. The operating temperature range is -20 ℃ ~60 ℃, within which discharge can be carried out
III. precautions for storage
1. It can be stored within the temperature range of -30 ℃ ~50 ℃, but if it is stored for a long time, please store it below 35 ℃
2. It is possible to save the charging state or the discharging state, but the discharging state can make the capacity recover earlier and be activated more easily
3. When the battery is placed for a long time, it must be fully charged before use
IV. memory effect of nickel cadmium battery
when the nickel cadmium battery is repeatedly discharged and charged at a low capacity for several times, if a large amount of discharge must be done, the battery will not work. This situation is called "memory effect". Memory effect may be the most misunderstood problem in nickel cadmium batteries. When the discharge termination voltage is set higher, it seems to decrease as the voltage used decreases, but the low discharge voltage can be solved by 1 ~ 2 complete discharges. It is recommended to discharge once after ten charges to prevent the suggestion effect
lithium battery
I. characteristics of lithium ion battery:
1. It has high energy density. Compared with high-capacity nickel cadmium battery, its volume energy is 1.5 times and weight energy density is 2 times
2. High voltage, the average service voltage is 3.6V, which is three times that of nickel cadmium battery and nickel hydrogen battery (the voltage of nickel cadmium battery and nickel hydrogen battery is 1.2V)
3. flat voltage and high capacity
4. Load characteristics, 2C discharge is possible
5. Widely used temperature - 20 ℃ ~ 60 ℃
6. Excellent charge and discharge life. After 500 discharges, its capacity is at least more than 70%
differences between nickel metal hydride batteries and lithium batteries:
first, in terms of weight
in terms of the voltage of each unit battery, nickel metal hydride and nickel cadmium are both 1.2V, while lithium batteries do eliminate 3.6V in time, and the voltage of lithium batteries is three times that of the other two. And the weight of the same type of battery is almost the same as that of nickel cadmium battery, while nickel nickel hydrogen battery is relatively heavy. It can be seen that the weight of each battery is different, but due to the 3.6V high voltage of lithium battery, the number of single battery combinations can be reduced by 1/3 under the condition of outputting the same voltage, which reduces the weight and volume of the formed battery
second, memory effect
Ni MH batteries have the same memory effect as Ni Cd batteries. Therefore, regular discharge management is also necessary. This kind of regular discharge management is handled in a fuzzy state, and even some discharge under incorrect knowledge (each discharge or discharge after several times of use varies according to different companies). This cumbersome discharge management is unavoidable when using nickel metal hydride batteries. Compared with lithium battery, it is very convenient and simple to use because it has no memory effect at all. It doesn't need to care about the residual voltage at all. It can be charged directly, and the charging time can be naturally shortened
III. self discharge rate
nickel cadmium battery is 15 ~ 30% (month). Nickel hydrogen battery is 25 ~ 35% (month), lithium battery is 2 ~ 5% (month). The self discharge rate of Ni MH battery above is the largest, while the discharge rate of lithium battery is extremely low compared with the other two types of batteries
IV. charging method
nickel metal hydride batteries and lithium batteries cannot withstand overcharging. Therefore, the pick cut control mode of nickel metal hydride battery charging with constant current is the best charging mode when the charging voltage reaches the maximum. The lithium battery is best charged with constant current and constant voltage. If it is charged with the charger of nickel cadmium battery - DV control mode, it is better to charge nickel hydrogen battery and lithium battery
